Creating Distinctiveness

Antonia has experience working in teams developing corporate, public, private and educational spaces. Antonia collaborates with team members to support the development of artworks in building schemes and landscape design as well as designing and developing creative interior and exterior fixtures and fittings.

Antonia often collaborates with architects, landscape architects and artists on design teams identifying visual opportunities to add something special and different to projects that ultimately create added value and are visually stimulating setting the overall scheme apart from the rest.

Client lists include local authorities (neighbourhood housing, landscape architects, highways, regeneration, planning and development agencies, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Hospitals, Community Groups and Resident groups.


Queensgate Revival, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, UK
Regeneration & Development Service, Kirklees Council

Appointed September 2008-2009 to create an aspirational portfolio for future developers working within the Queensgate Revival scheme and project managed by Loca.

This project is an important part of the planning and design process for the Queensgate Revival project. Antonia worked as the lead artist to explore design ideas for the public realm areas with Huddersfield School of Architecture and schools in Kirklees.  

Antonia created a short fly through  film that illustrates the design process and visual aspirations for the Queensgate project.

Oakwell Hall, Birstall, West Yorkshire, UK 
Oakwell Hall, Kirklees Council

Appointed July 2008 to the Project Team to design a faith garden and sculpture trail porject managed by Loca.

Working with the project team to design a faith garden and sculpture trail in the grounds of Oakwell Hall Country Park.

Oakwell Hall is a manor house built in 1583 and furnished as a family home of the 1690's.  It is set in over 100 acres of country park with nature trails.

St Peter's Gardens, Huddersfield, UK 

Partnerships and Procurement Service, Kirklees Council

Appointed July 2007 to the Design Team to work with the re-design of  St Peter's Gardens. 

The project is part of a wider Urban Renaissance scheme in central Huddersfield supported by funding from Yorkshire Forward. This scheme involves the complete re-design of the only significant green space in the town centre including hard landscaping, street furniture, and the inclusion of decorative design features.

Holbeck Urban Village

Allen Tod Architecture, Leeds, Uk

Appointed June 2006  to be Lead Artist and Design team member to advise and develop with the design team opportunities, a strategy and programme for artists involvement within the Holbeck Urban Village Street Works Project. The project proposals provided the client with;

  • A series of creative projects both temporary and permanent that form an integral part of the street works programme
  • Identifies opportunities for community and business engagement during the creative process
  • Identifies different spaces for interventions to occur
  • Makes a series of recommendations as how to move forwards

Dirker-Marsden, UK
Drawing up a creative scheme for open space

Working with small community groups and a landscape architect team to transform a hillside grassy slope into a multi-use recreational facility that is developed with creative features and direct involvement with the community through design workshops.  The features under consideration include entrance ways and areas for contemplation, sport, and a children's playground. The aims are to include the local community in this development and to attract wildlife and make it a source of pride for local residents. This work is commissioned by Loca in collaboration with people who are passionate about space.
