Trinity Leeds Owl – March 2013
Between September 2012 and March 2013 Owl was created for the Trinity Leeds development. The sculpture was made at Leeds Sculpture Workshop studio from wax and casted in bronze at a foundry near London. Specialist gilders made Owl look magnificent and he was successfully installed in March 2013 prior to the opening.
This owl is the city’s latest addition to the Leeds Owl Trail. Owls can be found all around Leeds and they derive from the Leeds Coat of Arms. It has been a tradition to have one integrated into both civic and private buildings around the city for over 400 years. A bit of ‘bling’ for a retail area seems completely appropriate! Why not!
Washington Post Newspaper- Yes the Leeds Owl Trail has been featured in time for the Tour De France.
